A lot to digest, Mark. I had never heard of Norman Borlaug. Now I know more of him, thanks to you, and would like to know even more. Thanks.

He won the Nobel Prize for Peace. I am sure he is the only Agronomist that was ever honored. Many years ago when one of my children was writing an essay to be eligible for an Advanced Placement Class he came to me and said "Hey Dad I have to write an essay about the person from history I admire the most." I know all the kids are gonna pick the hokey answer like George Washington or Abe Lincoln or MLK. Can you think of anyone I could look into who could fit the mold and nobody else will go there? I told him to research Norman Borlaug. Your teachers will love it since he's a Midwesterner. In addition, no one who ever walked the Earth has been credited with saving 1B lives. Nick and I still laugh about it to this day. Subsequently, I read this book. It was quite good. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17471580-our-daily-bread-the-essential-norman-borlaug

I sometimes try to write about unusual stuff or sometimes try to explain stuff in an easy to understand way. I fear I have a focus problem as I write about too many different topics I am afraid. I'm glad you enjoyed this. He is mostly forgotten but steered the world in a different direction. As a baseball fan, I enjoy that because his son was quite a good baseball player he helped to organize what became the Mexican League as a feeder to the Major Leagues. Kinda fun if you like baseball.
