My goodness, Christianity in America really is like a Cult! Who is the leader? As you’ve noted, it’s definitely not the current Pope. (I still have to read Part 2 but felt compelled to make this observation on the way past.)

At the time the "museum" was built, the powerful Senator from Kentucky made sure there were tax subsidies for the building of the Ark! My favorite part of the story is there was a rain storm and the Ark got damaged. Funny but ridiculous. I think you are right about the current Pope. He is an outsider and the only Jesuit Pope ever. For 2000 years the Italians have been like "go build your schools, help others and educate people and stay out of Church business :) I want to THANK YOU so much for taking the time to read. I enjoyed writing but knowing people are at least peeking is a nice feeling.

OMG. The Ark was damaged in a rain storm!!!! That’s hilarious!! And casts a whole new light on the basis for the stories we were brought up with.

And a Thank You for writing. Substack is an intriguing space, but I’m aware already that there are limits to the time I want to spend here. I have no idea how working people manage. It’s only that I’m retired that I have ‘enough’ time, but I am so busy living (and volunteering) that I’ve hit my limits. Thanks though for your contributions to my life. I’ve enjoyed reading your thoughts.

Very kind. When I stopped writing I limited my Substack reading to one day a week -- happier and more time for other stuff

Very interesting about the Jesuits!

My work career led to lots of work with folks from India. Lots of them educated at Jesuit institutions. I think the Jesuits have always been the bookish folks the others distrusted :)
