Sorry, this did not grab my interest enough at the start to read it all. I’m sure it has value since you got two others giving it rave reviews. Just not rocking my world enough to keep digging!

I write about weird stuff sometimes. While I spend only a few minutes with trends, I am amazed sometimes that the stuff I REALLY LIKE fewer people read.

Wow I could read about that big asteroid all day long.

Also, “However, and quite logically, the deeper you go the older the stuff.” Why? Is it because stuff gets covered up by space dust? Tree stuff?

I LOVE the asteroid story also! To me, it is so cool how something that happened 60M years before we were even around, we have been able to cleverly figure out so much of what likely happened! I am also amazed that it doesn't happen more often. It seems to me that could easily be why it is hard to find intelligent life. Seems if you randomly get sent to Jail without passing Go like Monopoly it is hard to make progress. Definitely not worth worrying about as it seems we have no defense against it just hope for the best!

Just like t-shirt at bottom of pile -- hasn't been worn in a while :)

There is nothing so thrilling to me, I think, as being able to glance at a cliff face or rocky mountainside and see one of those stripes and think about how much geological time is compressed within it. Just amazing.

Sympathies for the loss of your friend 💕

I recommend the book about earthquakes. It helped me understand a lot of things about those rock lines. I LOVE that it is a mixture of disciplines that allow us to understand the lines better. The amount of radioactive elements before and after helped us understand it had to be an asteroid. AMAZING. Thanks so much Antonia. Lucky when the people we meet along the way leave a mark.
