“Because most ground beef is made in a factory setting, a good estimate is that a burger might contain beef from 25-1000 different animals when you take a bite depending upon the factory setting.” Wow that is surprising and disgusting. I sort of wish I had not read that.
One of my good friends seriously doubted it. I used to work in a business adjacent to the food industry. I shared some references which I will not with you. There is no joy in seeing how food is made. I have a friend who LOVES BURGERS. He just gets beef ground at a butcher shop. One animal and I am always AMAZED how clean a butcher shop is! The crazy high numbers 1000+ only apply to fast food burgers. Another reason to go elsewhere even if it gets a five-star review :) -- Oh and before I forget again THANKS FOR COMMENTING, I appreciate it!
None of the poll choices fit my reaction exactly at 6:30 am so you got the too long response. What would I have chosen? Odd but intriguing in some way. In this case, I’d probably try an Impossible burger some time but I’m more likely to use ground beef to make taco meat so I can use just a bit of “beef” with salsa, cheese, lettuce and tomato in a different type of handheld meal. So can I use this “burger” in a non traditional way?
P.S. My problem is time priorities for reading. Usually it’s the many emails of the day, the newspapers I subscribe to, text messages, and my mystery book of the moment. Right now I’m reading the rare nonfiction book I have chosen from the library called “High Conflict” by Amanda Ripley. Check it out, pun definitely intended.
I wish there was more time also. I am trying HARD to make my writing shorter. I think it should continue to shrink in length. I am CONFIDENT by the end of this year I will be steady below six minutes read time. Right now working on trimming to eight minutes and almost there. They used to be WAY TOO LONG.
I am ALWAYS reading something also. I am currently enjoying Ted Chiang and his SciFi. He wrote the screenplay for Arrival, one of my favorite SciFi movies from the past.
Thanks for commenting Alta. They do sell their "ground beef" loose. I think on an overall basis it is not necessarily healthier as it is very high in sodium. I enjoy that there is even a way to tackle the sensory desire for red meat.

Also I did not vote bc like Alta I did not like the choices. Your posts are not too anything they are just perfectly themselves.
Alta and Anne's votes are TOO picky :) -- Seriously thank you very much. I inadvertently voted for too short and could not undo my vote :(
