Whoa I had no idea hopes were so high for the Bills this year! As you know I am retired Bills Mafia and still root for the team but I still picked option A bc I’ve had it with hope and the heartbreak!
The first four years after I got married, the Bills were in the SB starting with wide right. The funniest thing is I became a fan again after starting up a family genealogy outreach with large zoom calls. It eventually evolved into reconnection on a smaller scale with my bros and some cousins. I genuinely believe we like the one hour we spend together on Sunday mornings "boiling the ocean" more than the football. We are fans but the talk is more fun. I have toyed with the idea of creating watch parties (virtual) I think it is the connection. The Bills are fun to watch again. One of my favorite cousins told me he voted for "make the playoffs". He doesn't want to think any further ahead.
Minnesota is a good place for me. Only the Bills and the Vikings have managed to lose all four times they got to a SB. My bad joke for years is if they made it to the SB in the same game, it would end 0-0 and be decided by a safety in overtime.
Watch a game again and eat a beef on weck. Its not bad win or lose. This is a great year to come out of retirement :)
I get it! I will be up in Buffalo for my dad's 80th birthday in November and we are all going to watch a Bills game together (v. Browns) and while I have not watched a game in years I am SUPER EXCITED to watch one with my family.
That sounds awesome! You are so lucky to have your Dad and it sounds like you are making it a great day. Being with the family and doing just about anything sounds great. Please do not hurt yourself breaking a table ala the Mafia, we need the Monday morning CAFE ANNE release!!! The newfound tradition to jump on tables is ridiculous but they seem to be having fun! None of this at the Kadet's I hope. HBD well wishes.
While lighthearted, with my friends here I always advise as long as they still offer fried bologna at the concession stand, Buffalo will always be Buffalo!
I saw a feature last year or two years ago regarding the Bills Mafia. I was entertained by it. I didn't know that was such a thing. I'm all for a team that has fans who, through good times and bad, stick by their team. God only knows Packer fans saw those years before 2000 rolled around. I'm not quite sure about the slamming one's body into a table, but whatever pulls your chain. It's fun to see a team doing well and fans being able to enjoy the sport on a higher level. With baseball, if the Yankees lose tonight, the two juggernauts of the playoffs will be out of the picture and I am just fine with that. It does get old after a while. Let the little guy win from time to time. Nice sports posting, sir.
I think the Bills and Packers have a similar somewhat rabid fanbase. The identity of the residents is a bit caught up in their football teams it seems. In both instances the tailgating is a large part of the experience. I think, at some level, they are both shot and a beer towns. Bills host the Packers off the bye week and then the Vikings two weeks later.
The Padres bullpen (with the addition of Hader) will be a tough out. A couple of good starters and an absurd bullpen can win in the playoffs. I'm good with whoever as long as not the Astros.
Thanks for reading and commenting and glad you enjoyed some sports for a change.

I've seen the videos of my HS classmates crashing through tables on FB. It is totally ridiculous and I love it!
