Thanks I hope you get less urgings from the Substack overlords. For your peace of mind, the "statistics" collected are pretty minimal, most stuff like last open, number of lifetime comments and likes. I have a general sense of users but not very much. I think Substack either doesn't track in such great detail or doesn't share it with the writers. Just for you "all are welcome in this place"
Fascinating about light treatments. My favorite great-aunt died with Alzheimer’s and it was awful to watch. That and dementia have since then been my biggest aging fears. It’s great to read about new treatments, thanks!
We lost a close family member to brain cancer. Like many people, we were helpless and sometimes we read and explore and seek miracles. I fear loss of my faculties more than anything else. Both dementia and Alzheimer's are amidst studies with light therapy. Sensory therapy was stumbled upon. It seems we have this wonderful brain of ours and it has these sensory systems that it just cannot help but use. Who knows what happens in our minds when a beautiful sunset is in front of us. We know it sets off such wonderful feelings and it all starts with some light. If you have time, the MIT work has now shown that similar things occur when we get auditory sensation. It seems too good to be true. Wouldn't it be great if your doctor did an examination and said you need to listen to some music and that should fix things :)
There we are. I've been admitted to the kingdom. Thanks, Mark.

That's a beautiful thought!
hopefully "enlightening" ROFL
😂
-I LOVE the new format!
-"At some level, it is the reward for avoiding the rest of our chronic ailments." Haha, ain't it the truth.
-So happy that two of the things I love most, sleep and coffee, both have so many benefits, even though they are in some ways opposites!
Thanks I think it will be fun and more like a writing prompt :)
I am amazed by how important light is. Seems to be like magic! Maybe Cafe Bustelo can start making health claims!
