SpaceX can call itself private till it's blue in the face, it is not. We fund it.

Things like space and atmospheric gases and water sources and land cannot be owned because we do not produce those things. The Earth produces them. So all we can do is use them kindly and wisely. We can be good stewards and we can homestead. Homesteading is what we did for almost all of our species existence up until very recently anyway.

"But people won't use them correctly unless they force them" doesn't make sense because the very people forcing are doing it so that they themselves can have sole access to the resource. People who are decent do not have any desire to control in this way to begin with.

Also, despite all the current efforts to force people are not using resources correctly. And the ones doing the worst of it are the ones in control of it, ie, the government. The rulers.

What is the answer if you catch someone being unwise with Earth's resources? You confront them. And if they refuse to listen? You get more people from the area to come and hear out the situation. People are naturally incentivized to be liberal with each other to the limits of safety because people want that same liberty for themselves. But they will stop short of allowing something that's going to hurt them/everyone. It's a self-checking natural system.

I explored a lot of the topics you portray in your comment here. Yours is a refreshing and well thought out position. Humans are a curious animal. In our early days, we turned to nature for inspiration. Sometimes it feels like we are now focused on overwhelming it. I have explored that topic and often refer to that tendency of ours to outstrip the carrying capacity of the planet. Thanks again for bringing an unexpected smile to my face.

You speak of human nature, but most of us do not have a tendency to outstrip our surroundings because that would be a ridiculous choice. It is suicide.

There is a tiny subsection of people (did you know that the royals are so inbred that they're now considered genetically their own subtype?) who act against their own self-interest and therefore against the prosperity of the species because of their creepy luciferian ideals or whatever.

Human nature prioritizes goodness because that is how we have made it this far to begin with. Those who choose to be the exception have now arrived at a time where they are indeed GETTING BENT. It's about to become an exceedingly enjoyable time in history.

I'll take a peek at your Newsletter as time avails. For me humanity is mostly a 100,000 year journey. Mostly splashing around in the mud and most everything of consequence has happened in the last 300 years. Before then, mostly nothing to see. We now sit at an interesting pivot perhaps.

The Royals are a fun pivot for all of us I suppose. Mostly a useful way to get humans to defer to families and the divine right of kings and queens. Looks incredibly dumb in hindsight I guess but people love the crowns and parades. The garb they wear is not that different than other traditions I suppose. Sometimes I figure only Monty Python came close to capturing the absurdity.

I don't have a newsletter.

What humanity is isn't a "for me/you" thing. It just is what it is.

Are you familiar with the things built by ancient civilizations? The perfect construction with regard to their vast knowledge of astronomy? Much important has happened far before 300 years ago.

Humanity has accomplished amazing things. We are a really cool species. Morality is a health science arises from physics, and so we must largely behave in good ways or we die out. That is how we know we are not evil by default. Like if you are very lazy, then you will not do the work to gather your food, and you will starve. Doing wrong has natural bad consequences.

Anyway, regarding the egomaniacal clowns at the financial apex: if the ruling bloodlines were frightened by the invention of the Gutenberg press ..I think we can presume they are shaking like shitting dogs over the advent of the internet. The desperately need to cull, but it's not working out. Their egos are screwing them over ..royally.
